Government Job Fitness Certificate Rules

For central government jobs (IAS, IPS, railways, defence), fitness certificates must be issued by a Civil Surgeon or a Government Medical Board. Private doctor certificates are NOT accepted. For state government jobs, check the specific recruitment notification for approved examining authority.

Tip: Book your fitness examination appointment at least 2 weeks before your joining date. Government hospital medical boards often have long queues and may require multiple visits.
